Things I Learned Last Night.
Last night the ICA hosted the AIGA Boston’s final Design Lecture Series and the great Stefan Sagmeister in a double header while he presented some of his most recent work and spoke about the making of his latest book Things I have learned in my life so far. He has also launched an accompanying website where you can participate. Roughly half of kor group went to the 6:30p show. In homage to Mr. Sagmeister here is a list of things that I learned last night:
• Being first in line doesn’t get you any recognition from the speaker you’re about to see.
• Time away from client work can help refine your voice.
• Being honest makes you interesting.
• I find political agenda disenchanting in a creative forum even when it happens to be agenda I agree with.
• Good speakers are a perfect mix of funny and heartfelt.
• Creative stimulation is good for my brain.
