The future of marketing & mobile devices

Japan has always been in the forefront of technology, especially when it comes to mobile devices. When I visited Tokyo 3 years ago, I was amazed that being able to watch TV or surf the internet was a standard for any cell phone. I wanted to buy one of those gadgets so badly, but couldn’t [...]

Flip the color

Pixels can’t replace the feel of paper. Color Flip gives it a try anyway.

Kapoor Tour

I attended the Anish Kapoor opening last night at the ICA which I have to recommend highly. Kapoor is an Indian-born British installation artist whose work stretches the spacial and perceptive boundaries. I was smiling the whole time.

I always wonder, however, how one sets up a show such as this. So many of Kapoor’s pieces [...]

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

I found this film while researching another post. Firstly, it is simply fascinating to watch the calligraphy of Dutch artist, typographer and designer, Job Wouters. But it is really fun watching his nephew try to replicate the painted letterforms.

Beautifully tacky logos of South Florida

Just some observations from my recent trip down to South Florida. They love there coral, teal and neon script type. I think there is something with the heat down there that keeps design trapped in 1984?

BBC Logo puts some in a spin…

From the land that brought you the much maligned London Olympics logo, a new logo/title treatment for BBC News has received criticism from viewers. Some dislike the color palette while others see the £550,000 price tag as a waste of license payers money (yes, in the UK you have to pay for a TV license [...]
